Preqly LLC is not a lender, creditor or mortgage broker. We verify income and assets and issue pre-approval letters. The money comes from our partner banks and lenders.

This page sets out who we are, who we work with, and what our disclosures mean.

Who we are

Preqly LLC is a technology company. We verify a borrower’s income and assets from connected financial accounts and issue a pre-approval letter based on that verification.

  • Legal entity: Preqly LLC
  • Corporate office: 118 N. Clinton St. Suite 301, Chicago, IL 60661
  • Other locations: Las Vegas, Detroit and San Diego
  • Email: [email protected]
Our roleWe verify income and assets and issue the pre-approval letter.
Your lender’s roleThe money comes from our partner banks and lenders, and they make the lending decision.
Your roleYou connect your financial accounts so your income and assets can be verified.

Lending relationship

Preqly is not the party that funds your loan. Loan products are offered in partnership with federally chartered banks and lenders. Any mortgage you take out is made by that partner, and the lending relationship, including servicing, is with them.

  • Lending partner: Federally chartered banks and lenders
  • NMLS ID: 422846 — verify on NMLS Consumer Access
  • Also: Affiliate lending partners
  • Status: Member FDIC · Equal Housing Lender

NMLS and licensing

The Nationwide Multistate Licensing System and Registry, known as NMLS, assigns a unique identifier to mortgage companies and to individual loan originators. Consumers can look up any registered company or individual through NMLS Consumer Access.

The identifier below belongs to our lending partner, not to Preqly LLC. Preqly is not a lender, so the licence that matters for your loan is theirs.

Individual loan originators. Where a licensed loan originator works with you directly, their own NMLS number appears on your loan documents. You can look up any individual originator on NMLS Consumer Access using that number, the same way you would look up a company.

Where we operate

Preqly operates across the United States through its partner lenders.

State licences. Licensing requirements differ from state to state, and the licence that applies to your loan is held by the lender who funds it, not by Preqly. Before you sign, you can confirm which state licences that lender holds on NMLS Consumer Access, along with the states it is authorised to lend in.

Fair lending and accessibility

Equal Housing Lender. Lending decisions are made without regard to race, colour, religion, national origin, sex, familial status, disability or age. This reflects obligations under the Fair Housing Act and the Equal Credit Opportunity Act.

Member FDIC. Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation membership applies to our partner banks and relates to deposit insurance at those institutions. It is not a guarantee of any loan or of approval.

Accessibility. We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. If you have trouble using any part of this site, contact us at [email protected]. See our accessibility statement.

What a pre-approval letter is, and is not

A Preqly pre-approval is a verified qualification based on connected financial data. It is not a commitment to lend, a locked interest rate, or a final underwriting approval.

  • Final approval follows underwriting and an appraisal on a specific property.
  • Your credit and employment are reviewed again before closing.
  • The letter can change if your finances, the property, or program guidelines change.

Program minimums, loan limits, fees and eligibility rules are set by the applicable agencies and lenders and change over time. Individual lenders apply additional requirements of their own. More on how pre-approval works.

Data and privacy

Connecting a financial account gives read-only access, used to confirm income and assets. It cannot be used to move money. We do not sell financial data, and no credit inquiry is run when your letter is issued.

Full details are set out in our privacy policy and terms of service.
